I, MicheáI Martin, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to the Commission Directive 2006/3/EC of 9 January 2006 1 , hereby make the following Regulations— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Names and Labelling of Textile Products) (Amendment) Regulations 2007. 2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the European Communities (Names and Labelling of Textile Products) Regulations 1998 ( S.I. No. 245 of 1998 ). 3. Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended, in the definition of “the Directive”, by inserting after “and Commission Directive No. 2004/34/EC of 23 March 2004” the following: “and Commission Directive 2006/3/EC of 9 January 2006”. The labelling of textiles is governed by the Principal Regulations [ S.I. No. 245 of 1998 which transposed EU Directive 96/74/EC].
