I, NOEL DEMPSEY, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5 and 101B (inserted by section 9 of the Dublin Transport Authority (Dissolution) Act 1987 (No. 34 of 1987) (as amended by section 12 of the Roads Act 2007 (No. 34 of 2007)) of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), the National Roads and Road Traffic (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 298 of 2002 ) (as adapted by the Public Enterprise (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 305 of 2002 )) after consultation with the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Immobilisation of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 2009. 2. These Regulations come into operation on 1st day of January 2010. 3. The Road Traffic (Immobilisation of Vehicles) Regulations 1998 ( S.I. No. 247 of 1998 ) are amended by substituting for the Schedule to those Regulations the following: “SCHEDULE Insert name of Road Authority Cuir isteach Ainm an Údaráis Bithre Immobilisation Notice Fgra Teanntaithe (Section 101B of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 — Immobilisation of a vehicle parked in contravention of a prohibition or restriction imposed under section 35, 36 and 36A of the Road Traffic Act 1994 ) (Alt 101B den Acht um Thrácht ar Bhithre,1961 — Feithicil a theanntú má tá sí páirceáilte ar shlí a sháraíonn aon chosc n teorannú a fheidhmítear de réir alt 35, 36 n 36A den Acht um Thrácht ar Bhithre 1994) It is an offence for an unauthorised person to remove or interfere with this notice. These Regulations prescribe the notice to be used for the purposes of section 101B of the Road Traffic Act 1961 , as amended, in bi-lingual format and extend the application of the enforcement notice issued under section 101B to illegal parking offences under section 36A of the Road Traffic Act 1994 , inserted by section 12 of the Roads Act 2007 .
