No. 60 of 2009 EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (SAFETY OF THIRD-COUNTRY AIRCRAFT USING COMMUNITY AIRPORTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2009 Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in “Iris Oifigiúil” of 24th February, 2009. I, NOEL DEMPSEY, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) as amended by the European Communities Act 2007 (No. 18 of 2007) for the purpose of giving full effect to European Commission Directive 2008/49/EC 1 hereby make the following Regulations. 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Safety of Third-Country Aircraft Using Community Airports) (Amendment) Regulations 2009. 2. The European Communities (Safety of Third-Country Aircraft Using Community Airports) Regulations 2007 (S.I. 754 of 2007) are amended; (

(1)by substituting for the definition of “the Directive” the following: “ ‘the Directive’ means Directive 2004/36/EC of 21 April 2004 2 , as amended by (European Parliament and Council Regulation No. 2111/2005 of 14 December 2005 3 and Commission Directive 2008/49/EC of 16 April 2008);”. (b) in Regulation 2
(1)by substituting for the definition of “ramp inspection” the following: “ ‘ramp inspection’ means the examination of third-country aircraft in accordance with Annex II to the Directive, save in respect of matters occurring prior to the enactment of these Regulations, in which case, ‘ramp inspection’ means the examination of third-country aircraft in accordance with Annex II to European Parliament and Council Directive 2004/36/EC of 21 April 2004 on the safety of third-country aircraft using Community airports as amended by European Parliament and Council Regulation No. 2111/2005 of 14 December 2005;”.
