I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26
(3)of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (No. 27 of 2005), hereby order as follows:
- This Order may be cited as the Social Workers Registration Board (Establishment Day) Order
- The 7th day of June 2010 is appointed as the establishment day of the Social Workers Registration Board. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 7 June
- MARY HARNEY, Minister for Health and Children. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation). The effect of this Order is to establish, under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 , a body known as the Social Work Registration Board, which will register professional Social Workers, thus protecting the public by fostering high standards of professional conduct and professional education, training and competence among registrants of the social work profession.
