GIVEN under my Official Seal, 22 November 2010. NOEL DEMPSEY, Minister for Transport. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) The European Communities (Motor Vehicles UN-ECE Type Approval) Regulations 2000 ( S.I. No. 147 of 2000 ) gave effect to Council Decision 97/836/EEC of 27 November 1997 which provided for accession by the European Community to the Revised UN/ECE 1958 Agreement on motor vehicle type approval. S.I. No. 147 of 2000 made provision for national administrative arrangements for the granting of type approval for a motor vehicle, component or part based on the UN/ECE regulations listed in the Schedule to the Regulations. Under European Communities motor vehicle type-approval law, approvals under specified UN/ECE Regulations may be recognised as alternative approvals to approvals under equivalent European Communities type-approval Directives. These regulations substitute a new Schedule for the Schedule of S.I. No. 147 of 2000 , as amended by S.I. No. 449 of 2007 to take account of the UN/ECE Regulations which have been subsequently adopted by the European Community. These are UN/ECE Regulations 61, 125 and 126. UN/ECE Regulation 61 relates to external projections of commercial vehicles, UNECE Regulation 125 relates to forward field of vision and UN/ECE Regulation 126 relates to luggage partitions. These regulations also revoke the previous amendment S.I. No. 449 of 2007 . 1OJ No. L 346, 17 December 1997, p. 78 Privacy Statement Accessibility European Legislation Identifier (PDF) Open Data License Ráiteas Príobháideachais Inrochtaineacht Aitheantóir Eorpach Reachtaíochta (ELI) Ceadúnas Sonraí Oscailte Liosta Fianán © Government of Ireland.
