I, ÉAMON Ó CUÍV, Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1
(4)of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2010 (No. 28 of 2010), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2010 (Part 3) (Commencement) Order 2010. 2. The 1st day of January 2011 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2010 (No. 28 of 2010) come into operation: (
- a)Part 3; (
- b)section 34, insofar as it relates to Part 3. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 6 December 2010. ÉAMON Ó CUÍV, Minister for Social Protection. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) This Order provides for the commencement of Part 3 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2010 . Part 3 provides for the transfer of certain functions of the Minister for Education and Skills to the Minister for Social Protection and amends and extends the functions of An Foras Áiseanna Saothair. It also amends the Labour Services Act 1987 . Section 34 provides that the functions covered by Part 3 may be funded from monies provided by the Oireachtas subject to the normal conditions. This part comes into effect on 1 January 2011.
