The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6

(1)of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011.
(2)This Order comes into operation on 2 May 2011. 2. The name of the Department of State, the present name of which is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Comhshaoil, Oidhreachta agus Rialtais Áitiúil and, in the English language, the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Comhshaoil, Pobail agus Rialtais Áitiúil and, in the English language, to that of the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government. 3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Comhshaoil, Oidhreachta agus Rialtais Áitiúil and, in the English language, the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Comhshaoil, Pobail agus Rialtais Áitiúil and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government. 4. In any enactment or any instrument made under an enactment— (
  1. a)references to the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government shall be construed as references to the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government; (
  2. b)references to the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government shall be construed as references to the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government.
