I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11
(2)of the Transport (Railway Infrastructure) Act 2001 (No. 55 of 2001) (as adapted by the Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 141 of 2011 ) and with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Transport (Railway Infrastructure) Act 2001 (Additional Functions) (Public Transport by Road) Order 2011. 2. In this Order, “public transport infrastructure” has the same meaning as it has in section 2 of the Dublin Transport Authority Act 2008 (No. 15 of 2008). 3. The Railway Procurement Agency shall have the following additional functions: (
- a)to enter into agreements with the National Transport Authority in relation to the development of one or more bus rapid transit systems; (
- b)to secure the provision of, or to provide, public transport infrastructure as required in the performance of an agreement referred to in paragraph (a); (
- c)to enter into agreements with other persons in order to secure the provision of public transport infrastructure as required in the performance of an agreement referred to in paragraph (
- a)whether by means of a concession, joint venture, public private partnership or any other means. The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform consents to the making of the foregoing Order.
