I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Directive 2012/5/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012,1 and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 456/2012 of 30 May 20122 hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Bluetongue) (Amendment) Regulations 2012. 2. The European Communities (Bluetongue) Regulations 2008 ( S.I. No. 133 of 2008 ) are amended— (
4. a)in Regulation 2— (
5. i)by the substitution, for the definition of ‘Bluetongue Directive’, of— “ ‘Bluetongue Directive’ means Council Directive 2000/75/EC of 20 November 2000 as amended by Directive 2012/5/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2012;” and (
6. ii)by the substitution, for the definition of ‘Bluetongue Regulation’, of— “ ‘Bluetongue Regulation’ means “Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1266/2007 of 26 October 2007 as amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No. 289/2008 of 31 March 2008; Commission Regulation (EC) No. 384/2008 of 29 April 2008; Commission Regulation (EC) No. 394/2008 of 30 April 2008 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 456/2012 of 30 May 2012;”, (
