I, PHIL HOGAN, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3
(2)of the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act 1971 (No. 6 of 1971), as adapted by the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 193 of 2011 ), hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act 1971 (Designation of Bodies) Order 2012.
(2)This Order shall come into effect on 01 August
- In this Order— “approved housing body” means a body standing approved for the purposes of section 6 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992 (No. 18 of 1992); and “establishment order” means the Housing and Sustainable Communities Agency (Establishment) Order 2012 (No. 264 of 2012).
- The following bodies are designated for the purposes of section 3
(3)of the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act 1971 (No. 6 of 1971), as bodies for which the Housing and Sustainable Communities Agency may provide the services specified in its establishment order, or services of a similar nature, that is to say— An approved housing body, Housing Finance Agency, Housing and Sustainable Communities Limited, Institute of Public Administration, Irish Council for Social Housing, National Asset Management Agency, National Association of Building Co-operatives, National Building Agency, and Private Residential Tenancies Board. This Order specifies the bodies, in addition to the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government and local authorities, for which the Housing and Sustainable Communities Agency may provide the services set out in its establishment order, or services of a similar nature.
