No. 260 of 2013 GARDA SÍOCHÁNA (RETIREMENT) REGULATIONS 2013 Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in “Iris Oifigiúil” of 19th July, 2013. I, ALAN SHATTER, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 122 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 (No. 20 of 2005) (as adapted by the Justice and Law Reform (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 138 of 2011 )), after consulting with the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána and with the approval of the Government, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Garda Síochána (Retirement) Regulations 2013. 2. Notwithstanding anything contained in— (
4. a)the Garda Síochána (Retirement) Regulations 1934 ( S.R. & O. No. 146 of 1934 ), (
5. b)the Garda Síochána (Retirement) (No. 2) Regulations 1951 ( S.I. No. 335 of 1951 ), (
6. c)the Garda Síochána (Retirement) Regulations 1990 ( S.I. No. 318 of 1990 ), (
7. d)the Garda Síochána (Retirement) Regulations 1996 ( S.I. No. 16 of 1996 ), as continued in force by section 128 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 , the member of the Garda Síochána who, immediately before the making of these regulations, holds the rank of Commissioner of the Garda Síochána shall retire on 7 August 2015.
