I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 2013/15/EU of 13 May 20131 , in so far as it applies to the type approval of motor vehicles and their trailers and two or three-wheel motor vehicles, and systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2013. 2. The European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 ( S.I. No. 421 of 2011 ) are revoked. 3. The following is substituted for Schedule 1 (inserted by Regulation 2(

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) Regulations 2009 ( S.I. No. 127 of 2009 ), which implemented the provisions of a number of European Union Directives which deal with the type approval of motor vehicles, their trailers and components, and two and three wheel vehicles including quadricycles. These Regulations replace the list of Directives set out in Schedule 1 to the Regulations of 2009 in order to take account of Council Directive 2013/15/EU on the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union. These Regulations revoke the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 ( S.I. No. 421 of 2011 ).
