I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Animal Health) (Adaptation) Regulations 2014 and come into operation on 6 March 2014. 2. A reference in a provision mentioned in Schedule 1 to “authorised officer” is construed and has effect as if the reference includes a reference to an authorised officer within the meaning of section 2 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 . 3. An authorised officer, within the meaning of an instrument mentioned in column
(2)of Schedule 2 may, in substitution for the powers mentioned in column
(4)opposite that mention, exercise any or all of the powers mentioned in section 38 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 . 4. Each instrument mentioned in column
(2)of Schedule 2 is repealed to the extent specified in column
