I, JAN O’SULLIVAN, Minister for Education and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 September 20051 , as amended by Council Directive 2006/100/EC of 20 November 20062 , Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1430/2007 of 5 December 20073 , Commission Regulation (EC) No. 755/2008 of 31 July 20084 , Regulation (EC) No. 1137/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 20085 , Commission Regulation (EC) No. 279/2009 of 6 April 20096 , Commission Regulation (EU) No. 213/2011 of 3 March 20117 , the Treaty concerning the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union done at Brussels on the 9th day of December 20118 , Commission Regulation (EU) No. 623/2012 of 11 July 20129 and Council Directive 2013/25/EU of 13 May 201310 , hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) (Directive 2005/36/EC) (Amendment) Regulations 2014. 2. The Recognition of Professional Qualifications (Directive 2005/36/EC) Regulations 2008 ( S.I. No. 139 of 2008 ) are amended— (
  4. a)in Regulation 2— (
  5. i)by substituting the following for the definition of “the Directive” in paragraph

(1): “ ‘Directive’ means Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 September 20051, as amended by Council Directive 2006/100/EC of 20 November 20062, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1430/2007 of 5 December 20073, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 755/2008 of 31 July 20084, Regulation (EC) No. 1137/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 20085, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 279/2009 of 6 April 20096, Commission Regulation (EU) No. 213/2011 of 3 March 20117, the Treaty concerning the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union done at Brussels on the 9th day of December 20118, Commission Regulation (EU) No. 623/2012 of 11 July 20129 and Council Directive 2013/25/EU of 13 May 201310 ;”, and (ii) by revoking paragraph
(6), and (
  1. b)in Regulation 4— (
  2. i)by deleting “, as updated by 2006/100/EC in respect of professional qualifications in Bulgaria and Romania” in subparagraph (a), and (
