I, FRANCES FITZGERALD, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1
(2)of the Court of Appeal Act 2014 (No. 18 of 2014), hereby order as follows:
- This Order may be cited as the Court of Appeal Act 2014 (Commencement) Order
- The 5th day of September 2014 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Court of Appeal Act 2014 (No. 18 of 2014) shall come into operation: (a) section 1 (other than subsection
(3)); (
- b)section 2; (
- c)section 7; (
- d)paragraphs (a), (
- b)and (
- c)of section 11; (
- e)paragraph (
- d)of section 12. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 2 September 2014. FRANCES FITZGERALD, Minister for Justice and Equality. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) This Order appoints the 5th day of September 2014 as the date on which certain provisions of the Court of Appeal Act 2014 come into operation. These provisions relate to the operation of the Judicial Appointments Advisory Board and will facilitate the Board in dealing with applications for appointment to the Court of Appeal in advance of the establishment day of that Court.
