I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 95 (as amended by section 78 of the Road Traffic Act 2010 (No. 25 of 2010)) of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) (as adapted by the Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 141 of 2011 )), hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Signs) (Amendment) Regulations 2015.
(2)The Road Traffic (Signs) Regulations 1997 to 2014 and these Regulations may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Signs) Regulations 1997 to 2015. 2. The Road Traffic (Signs) Regulations 1997 ( S.I. No. 181 of 1997 ) are amended by substituting for articles 19A and 19B (both inserted by the Road Traffic (Signs) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 ( S.I. No. 330 of 2014 )) the following: “Car club vehicle parking bay 19A. Traffic sign number RRM 034 shall— (
- a)indicate a car club vehicle parking bay, and (
- b)consist of the words ‘Car Club Only’, written on the roadway in white in letters at least 350mm in height. Electrically powered vehicle recharging bay 19B. Traffic sign number RRM 035 shall— (
- a)indicate an electrically powered vehicle recharging bay, and (
- b)consist of the words ‘Electric Vehicle Charging Only’ or ‘EV charging Only’, written on the roadway in white in letters at least 350mm in height.”. 3. The Road Traffic (Signs) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 ( S.I. No. 330 of 2014 ) are revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 14 October 2015. PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport. These Regulations provide a change in the size of lettering on parking spaces reserved for car club cars and for the recharging of electric vehicles.
