I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5 and 5A of the Oireachtas (Allowances to Members) and Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Act 1992 (No. 3 of 1992) and the Finance (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 418 of 2011 ), hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Oireachtas (Termination Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations 2017. 2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on 15 September 2017. 3. Regulation 4(b)(
4. ii)of the Oireachtas (Termination Allowance) Regulations 1992 ( S.I. No. 356 of 1992 ) is amended by inserting “or the Single Public Service Pension Scheme” before “applies”. These regulations provide for the inclusion of outgoing Members of the Oireachtas who are members of the Single Public Service Pension Scheme in the scheme of severance payments for outgoing Members of the Oireachtas introduced in 1992, on foot of a recommendation in Report 35 of the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector.
