I, SHANE ROSS, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 10 , 14 and 17 of the Sea Pollution Act 1991 (No. 27 of 1991) and the Maritime Transport, Safety and Security (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2005 ( S.I. No. 842 of 2005 ) (as adapted by the Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 141 of 2011 )), hereby make the following regulations: 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Sea Pollution (Prevention of Oil Pollution) (Amendment) Regulations 2018.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation 21 days after the date on which they are made. 2. The Supplement to the International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate in Schedule 2 to the Sea Pollution (Prevention of Oil Pollution) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 788 of 2007 ) is amended in Form B— (
  1. a)by the deletion of paragraphs 1.11.8 and 1.11.9, (
  2. b)by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph 5.1: “5.1 In accordance with the requirements of regulation 18, the ship is qualified as a segregated ballast tanker in compliance with regulation 18.9 ....................................... ”, (
  3. c)by the deletion of paragraphs 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.3, 5.1.4, 5.1.5 and 5.1.6, (
  4. d)by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph 5.2: “5.2 Segregated ballast tanks (SBT) in compliance with regulation 18 are distributed as follows: Tank Volume (m3) Tank Volume (m3) Total volume ................................. m3 ”, (
  5. e)by the deletion of paragraphs 5.2.1, 5.2.2 and 5.2.3, (
  6. f)by the deletion of paragraphs 5.3, 5.3.1, 5.3.2, 5.3.3, 5.3.4 and 5.3.5, (
  7. g)by renumbering paragraphs 5.4, 5.4.1, 5.4.2, 5.4.3 and 5.4.4 as paragraphs 5.3, 5.3.1, 5.3.2, 5.3.3 and 5.3.4 as a result of the deletion, under paragraph (f), of paragraphs 5.3, 5.3.1, 5.3.2, 5.3.3, 5.3.4 and 5.3.5, (
  8. h)by the deletion of paragraph 5.5, 5.5.1 and 5.5.2, and (
  9. i)by renumbering all subsequent paragraphs in section 5 as a result of the deletion, under paragraph (h), of paragraphs 5.5, 5.5.1 and 5.5.2. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 29 June 2018. These Regulations amend the Sea Pollution (Prevention of Oil Pollution) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 788 of 2007 ). The purpose of these Regulations is to provide for an amendment to the form of the Supplement to the International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate, which is set out in Schedule 2 to the above-mentioned Regulations.
