I, Katherine Zappone, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 58B (inserted by section 92 of the Child and Family Agency Act 2013 (No. 40 of 2013)) (as adapted by the Environment, Community and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2016 ( S.I. No. 394 of 2016 )) of the Child Care Act 1991 (No. 17 of 1991), after consultation with the Minister for Education and Skills and the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government, hereby make the following regulations: Title and commencement 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) (Registration of School Age Services) (Amendment) Regulations 2019.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on 18th February
- Interpretation
- In these Regulations: “Principal Regulations” means the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) (Registration of School Age Services) Regulations 2018 ( S.I. No. 575 of 2018 ). Amendment of Regulation 1 of the Principal Regulations
- The Principal Regulations are amended – (a) In Regulation 1, by substituting for paragraph
(2)the following: “
(2)These Regulations (other than Regulations 9
(2)and 14 in relation to persons required to register in accordance with Regulations 5
(4)or 5
(5)) shall come into operation on 18th February 2019”, and (b) by inserting the following after Regulation 1, paragraph
(2): “
(3)Regulations 9
(2)and 14 in relation to persons required to register in accordance with Regulations 5
(4)or 5

These Regulations amend the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) (Registration of School Age Services) Regulations 2018 by deferring the commencement date of those regulations that relate to ratio requirements in respect of certain classes of service.
