I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 4 , 7 , 8 and 14 of the Student Support Act 2011 (No. 4 of 2011), and the Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2020 ( S.I. No 451 of 2020 ) as adapted by the Education and Skills (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No 450 of 2020 )), having consulted with the Higher Education Authority and with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, hereby make the following regulations:— Citation and Commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Student Support (Amendment) Regulations 2020. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January 2021. 3. Schedule 1 to the Student Support Regulations 2020 ( S.I. No. 77 of 2020 ) is amended in PART A thereof, by the insertion of the following approved institution: “Munster Technological University” GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, 10 December, 2020. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation). These Regulations are an amendment to the existing principal Regulations ( S.I. No. 77 of 2020 ) which prescribe “approved institutions” and other matters for the purposes of the Student Support Act 2011 .These Regulations may be cited as the Student Support (Amendment) Regulations 2020.
