I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving further effect to Article 7a (inserted by Article 5 of Directive 2009/30/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 20091 ) of Directive 98/70/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 October 19982 , as amended by Council Directive (EU) 2015/652 of 20 April 20153 , hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions, Calculation Methods and Reporting Requirements) (Amendment) Regulations 2020. 2. The European Union (Greenhouse Gas Emission Reductions, Calculation Methods and Reporting Requirements) Regulations 2017 (S. I. No. 160 of 2017) are amended – (
4. a)by inserting after Regulation 8 the following: “Maintenance of lifecycle greenhouse gas reductions 8A. The reduction required to achieved by a supplier by 31 December 2020 in accordance with Regulation 8 shall be maintained by the supplier after that day in each subsequent year.”, and (
