The Law Society of Ireland in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Sections 5 and 82 of the Solicitors Act 1954 and with the concurrence of the President of the High Court hereby make the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as The Solicitors Acts 1954 to 2015 (Apprentices’ Fees) Regulations 2022. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of July 2022 and The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 2008 (Apprentices’ Fees) Regulations, 2008 ( S.I. No. 577 of 2008 ) shall from that date stand revoked. 3. (
  4. a)The words and phrases in these Regulations and in the Schedule hereto shall have the meanings respectively assigned by the Solicitors Acts 1954 to 2015 and, except insofar as may be inconsistent there-with, the provisions of the Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 2001 (S.I. No. 546 of 2001) and the provisions of the Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 2011 (Apprenticeship and Education) (Amendment) Regulations, 2019 ( S.I. No. 503 of 2019 ). (
  5. b)The Interpretation Act 2005 shall apply for the purposes of the inter-pretation of these Regulations as it applies for the purposes of the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas, except insofar as it may be inconsistent with the provisions of the Solicitors Acts 1954 to 2015 or The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 2001 ( S.I. No. 546 of 2001 ) or The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 2011 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 2019 ( S.I. No. 503 of 2019 ) or these Regulations. 4. As and from the date on which these Regulations shall come into operation, the fees specified in the Schedule hereto shall be paid to the Society in respect of courses and examinations provided for in The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 2001 ( S.I. No. 546 of 2001 ) and The Solicitors Acts 1954 to 2011 (Apprenticeship and Education) (Amendment) regulations, 2019 ( S.I. No. 503 of 2019 ). SCHEDULE within referred to 1st July 2022 1. On application to sit the Preliminary Examination €415 2. On application for entry on the Register of Apprentices by the Registrar of indentures of apprenticeship (other than an application for entry of a transfer of indentures) €920 3. On application to sit any one or more (less than all eight) subject examinations of the Final Examination — First Part (per each subject examination) €115 4 On application to attend the Professional Practice Course €10,500 5 On application to attend an Advanced Elective (per Elective) €600 6. On application to attend the Professional Practice Course I €8,500 7. On application to attend the Professional Practice Course II €4,800 8. For each day or part of a day re-attending the Professional Practice Course or the Professional Practice Course I or the Professional Practice Course II or an Advanced Elective, or for each day or part of a day attending the Professional Practice Course or the Professional Practice Course I or the Professional Practice Course II or an Advanced Elective by a barrister to whom Section 43 (as substituted by Section 51 of the Act of 1994) of the Act applies €105 9. The subject examination fee for a late application to sit any of the examinations on the Professional Practice Course or Professional Practice Course I or Professional Practice Course II or an Advanced Elective €200 10. On application for entry of a name on the roll of solicitors €300 11. On the first application to present for a Qualified Lawyer’s Transfer Test €450 12. The subject examination fee for the examinations in Professional Conduct and Solicitors Accounts €170 13. The subject examination fee for the examination in European Union Law €170 14. The subject examination fee for the examinations in Constitutional Law and at the election of the candidate Company or Criminal Law, Contract & Tort, Land Law & Conveyancing and Probate & Taxation €230 15. On application for a re-check of a subject examination script for any of the examinations provided for in The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 2001 ( S.I. No. 546 of 2001 ) and The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 2011 (Apprenticeship and Education) (Amendment) Regulations, 2019 ( S.I. No. 503 of 2019 ) €120 16. Administration fee for processing an application under the Morgenbesser Regulations €400 17. Administration fee for other applications to the Education Committee €80 18.
