of the Council Regulation;” and (iii) by the deletion of the definition of “judgment”. 9. The Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act 1991 (No. 6 of 1991) is amended – (
- a)in section 2, by substituting the following definition for the definition of “Council Regulation”: “ ‘Council Regulation’ means Council Regulation (EU) 2019/1111 of 25 June 20191 ;” and (
- b)in section 7
(2)(b), by substituting – (
- i)“ ‘authority competent for enforcement’ ” for “ ‘competent authorities in a Member State’ ”, and (
- ii)“Chapter III” for “Article 11”. 10. Section 25 of the Courts and Court Officers Act 1995 (No. 31 of 1995) is amended – (
- a)by the substitution of the following paragraphs for paragraphs (
- g)and (h): “(
- g)any cause or matter concerning a ward of court, save an application under the Council Regulation; (
- h)matters relating to custody of children, save an application under the Council Regulation;” and (
- b)by the insertion of the following subsection after subsection
(6): “
(7)In this section, ‘Council Regulation’ means Council Regulation (EU) 2019/1111 of 25 June 20191 .”. 11. Section 1
(1)of the Protection of Children (Hague Convention) Act 2000 (No. 37 of 2000) is amended by the substitution of the following definition for the definition of “Council Regulation”: “ ‘Council Regulation’ means Council Regulation (EU) 2019/1111 of 25 June 20191 ;”. 12. The European Communities (Judgments in Matrimonial Matters and Matters of Parental Responsibility) Regulations 2005 (S.I. 112 of 2005) are revoked, save insofar as they relate to – (
- a)decisions given in legal proceedings instituted, (
- b)authentic instruments formally drawn up or registered, and (
- c)agreements which have become enforceable in the Member State where they were concluded, before 1 August 2022, and which fall within the scope of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2201/2003 of 27 November 20032 . These Regulations give full effect to Council Regulation (EU) No. 2019/1111 of 25 June 2019 on jurisdiction, the recognition and enforcement of decisions in matrimonial matters and the matters of parental responsibility and on international child abduction (recast) (Brussels IIb / Brussels II ter). These Regulations revoke the European Communities (Judgments in Matrimonial Matters and Matters of Parental Responsibility) Regulations, 2005 ( S.I.
