I, Eamon Ryan, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications in exercise of powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Directive 2010/75/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 20101 and further effect to Directive No. 2011/92/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 December 20112 on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment, amended by Directive 2014/52/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 20143 hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992) (Amendment) Regulations 2022. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 24th day of August 2022. 3. Section 87(1B) (amended by section 41 of the Circular Economy and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2022 (No 26 of 2022)) of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (No.7 of 1992) is amended by the deletion of “by or on behalf of a Minister of the Government”.
