I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Directive (EU) 2015/849 of the European Parliament and Council of 20 May 20151 , as amended by Directive (EU) 2018/843 of the European Parliament and Council of 30 May 20182 , hereby make the following regulations: Citation 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Anti-Money Laundering: Central Mechanism for Information on Safe-Deposit Boxes and Bank and Payment Accounts) (Amendment) Regulations 2022. Definition 2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the European Union (Anti-Money Laundering: Central Mechanism for Information on Safe-Deposit Boxes and Bank and Payment Accounts) Regulations 2022 ( S.I. No. 46 of 2022 ). Amendment of Regulation 4 of Principal Regulations 3. The Principal Regulations are amended, in Regulation 4, by the insertion of the following paragraph after paragraph
(3): “
(4)In paragraph
(1), a reference to an account or a safe-deposit box is a reference to an account or a safe-deposit box, as the case may be, held by a credit institution on or after 3 February 2022.”. Amendment of Regulation 5 of Principal Regulations 4. The Principal Regulations are amended, in Regulation 5, by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (b): “(
- b)in respect of the beneficial owner of the customer-account holder— (
- i)forename and surname, (
