I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of powers conferred on me by sections 20 and 32 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009 (No. 22 of 2009) (as adapted by the Housing, Planning and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 (S. I. No. 408 of 2020)), hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Social Housing Assessment (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2022.
(2)Regulation 3 comes into operation on 1 October
- In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means Social Housing Assessment Regulations 2011 ( S.I. No. 84 of 2011 ).
- The Principal Regulations are amended by substituting for the Table to Regulation 20 (inserted by the Social Housing Assessment (Amendment) Regulations 2016 ( S.I. No. 288 of 2016 ) the following: “TABLE County Councils City and County Councils Carlow Limerick Clare Waterford Cork Galway Kerry Kilkenny Laois Louth Westmeath Wexford ”.
- The Principal Regulations are amended, in paragraphs
(1)and
(2)of Regulation 4, by substituting “in the form set out in the Schedule” for “in the prescribed form”.
- The Principal Regulations are amended by substituting for the Schedule (inserted by the Social Housing Assessment (Amendment) Regulations 2021 ( S.I. No. 116 of 2021 )) the following: “ Regulation 4 Schedule Application Form for Social Housing Support ”.
- The Social Housing Assessment (Amendment) Regulations 2022 ( S.I. No. 73 of 2022 ) are revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 7 September,

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation) These Regulations amend the Social Housing Assessment Regulations 2011 ( S.I. No. 84 of 2011 ) to— • To prescribe a maximum income threshold of €30,000 for eligibility for social housing support in the administrative area of Carlow, Clare, Galway, Laois and Westmeath from 1 October
- • To amend Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations and the application form for social housing support.
