I, Charlie McConalogue, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 , for the purpose of giving further effect to Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/382 of 3 March 20211 , hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Food and Feed Hygiene) (Amendment) Regulations 2022. 2. The European Union (Food and Feed Hygiene) Regulations 2020 ( S.I. No. 22 of 2020 ) are amended in Regulation 3, by substituting for the definition of “Regulation No 852/2004” the following- “‘Regulation No 852/2004’ means Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 20042 as amended by Commission Regulation (EC) No 1019/2008 of 17 October 20083 , Regulation (EC) No 219/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 20094 and Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/382 of 3 March 2021;”. EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) These Regulations amend European Union (Food and Feed Hygiene) Regulations 2020 ( S.I. No. 22 of 2020 ) to give effect to give effect to Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/382 of 3 March 2021 insofar as it amends Annex II to Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the hygiene of foodstuffs as regards food allergen management, redistribution of food and food safety culture.
