I, CHARLIE MCCONALOGUE, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 14 of the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006 (No. 8 of 2006) for the purpose of giving further effect to Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 3440/84 of 6 December 19841 (as amended by Regulation (EEC) No 955/87 of 1 April 19872 , Commission Regulation (EEC) No 2122/89 of 14 July 19893 and Commission Regulation No 146/2007 of 15 February 20074 ), and Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 20195 , and effect to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2588 of 20 October 20226 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/56 of 19 July 20227 hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) (Amendment) Regulations 2023. 2. The Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) Regulations 2019 ( S.I. No. 520 of 2019 ) are amended in Regulation 2
(1)by the insertion after “23 August 2021” in the definition of “Council Regulation” (as amended by the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 ( S.I. No. 223 of 2022 )) of the following: “, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2588 of 20 October 2022 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/56 of 19 July 2022”. 3. The Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 ( S.I. No. 223 of 2022 ) are revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 26 January, 2023. This instrument amends the Sea-Fisheries (Technical Measures) Regulations 2019 ( S.I. No. 520 of 2019 ) to give effect to (
- a)Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/2588 of 20 October 2022 as regards technical measures for demersal and pelagic fisheries in the Celtic Sea, the Irish Sea and West of Scotland and (
