I, RODERIC O’GORMAN, Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 15B (inserted by section 9 of the Maternity Protection (Amendment) Act 2004 (No. 28 of 2004)) of the Maternity Protection Act 1994 (No. 34 of 1994) and the Disability, Equality, Human Rights, Integration and Reception (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 436 of 2020 ) (as adapted by the Children and Youth Affairs (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 437 of 2020 )), hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Maternity Protection (Protection of Mothers who are Breastfeeding) (Amendment) Regulations 2023.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 3rd day of July
- The Maternity Protection (Protection of Mothers who are Breastfeeding) Regulations 2004 ( S.I. No. 654 of 2004 ) are amended by the substitution of the following definition for the definition of “employee who is breastfeeding”: “ ‘employee who is breastfeeding’ has the same meaning as it has in section 2
(1)(as amended by section 34 (a) of the Work Life Balance and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2023 (No. 8 of 2023)) of the Principal Act;”. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 29 June, 2023.
