I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 28

(5)of the Local Government Rates and Other Matters Act 2019 (No 24 of 2019), hereby order as follows:
  1. This order may be cited as the Local Government Rates and Other Matters Act 2019 (Commencement) Order
  3. The 6th day of November 2023 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Local Government Rates and Other Matters Act 2019 (No. 24 of 2019) shall come into operation: (a) sections 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 18, 19, 20, 22 and 27; (b) Part 1 of the Schedule insofar as it relates to the repeal of the enactments mentioned in column
(4)opposite the following reference numbers in column
(1): (
  1. i)number 6 insofar as it relates to section 71 of the Local Government (Dublin) Act 1930 ; (
  2. ii)number 7 insofar as it relates to section 20 of the Cork City Management (Amendment) Act 1941 ; (iii) number 9 insofar as it relates to section 14 of the Local Government Act 1946 ; (
  3. iv)number 11 insofar as it relates to section 10
(2)of the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Act 1978 ; (
  1. v)number 12 insofar as it relates to Clause I of subparagraph (
  2. i)of paragraph (
  3. b)of subsection
(7)of section 103. 3. The 1st day of January 2024 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Local Government Rates and Other Matters Act 2019 shall come into operation: (
  1. a)sections 4, 5, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17; (
  2. b)Part 1 of the Schedule insofar as it is not already commenced. 4. The 1st day of January 2025 is appointed as the day on which section 12 of the Local Government Rates and Other Matters Act 2019 shall come into operation.
