I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Electricity Costs (Emergency Measures) Domestic Accounts Act 2023 (No. 29 of 2023), with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Electricity Costs Emergency Benefit Scheme III Regulations 2023. 2. In these Regulations – “Act of 2023” means the Electricity Costs (Emergency Measures) Domestic Accounts Act 2023 (No. 29 of 2023); “first payment period” means the period referred to in paragraph (
  4. a)of the definition of payment period in section 1 of the Act of 2023; “second payment period” means the period referred to in paragraph (
  5. b)of the definition of payment period in section 1 of the Act of 2023; “third payment period” means the period referred to in paragraph (
  6. c)of the definition of payment period in section 1 of the Act of 2023. 3. The 22nd of November 2023 is prescribed as the relevant date. 4. Each of the following is prescribed to be an effective date: (
  7. a)in respect of the first payment period, 29 November 2023; (
  8. b)in respect of the second payment period, 20 December 2023; (
  9. c)in respect of the third payment period, 28 February 2024. 5. Each of the following is prescribed to be a prescribed period for the purposes of section 4

(1)(
  1. f)of the Act of 2023: (
  2. a)in respect of the first payment period, the period commencing on 29 November 2023 and ending on 31 December 2023; (
  3. b)in respect of the second payment period, the period commencing on 20 December 2023 and ending on 31 January 2024; (
  4. c)in respect of the third payment period, the period commencing on 28 February 2024 and ending on 31 March 2024. 6. Each of the following is prescribed to be a prescribed period for the purposes of section 5
(2)of the Act of 2023: (
  1. a)in respect of the first payment period, the period commencing on 1 December 2023 and ending on 31 December 2023; (
  2. b)in respect of the second payment period, the period commencing on 1 January 2024 and ending on 29 February 2024; (
  3. c)in respect of the third payment period, the period commencing on 1 March 2024 and ending on 30 April 2024.
