Short title, collective citation and commencement Acts Referred to Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (Amendment) Act 2021 (No. 41) Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003 (No. 28) Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Acts 2003 to 2021 Number 46 of 2024 HOUSES OF THE OIREACHTAS COMMISSION (AMENDMENT) ACT 2024 An Act to amend the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003; and to provide for related matters. [13th November, 2024] Be it enacted by the Oireachtas as follows: Amendment of section 5 of Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003 1. Section 5 (amended by section 1 of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (Amendment) Act 2021 ) of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Act 2003 is amended— (
- a)by the substitution of the following subsection for subsection
(1): “
(1)Subject to subsection
(2), the expenditure incurred by the Commission in the performance of its functions during the period of 3 years from 1 January 2025 shall, with the approval of the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform, be charged on and paid out of the Central Fund or the growing produce of that Fund by the Minister for Finance.”, and (b) by the substitution of the following subsection for subsection
(2): “
(2)Not more than the sum of €565,000,000 shall be charged on and paid out of the Central Fund or the growing produce of that Fund in accordance with subsection
(1).”. Short title, collective citation and commencement 2.
(1)This Act may be cited as the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (Amendment) Act 2024.
(2)The Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Acts 2003 to 2021 and this Act may be cited together as the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission Acts 2003 to 2024.
(3)This Act comes into operation on 1 January 2025.
