I, NEALE RICHMOND, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 14 , 29 and 30 (as amended by sections 17 , 29 and 30 of the Employment Permits (Amendment) Act 2014 (No. 26 of 2014)) of the Employment Permits Act 2006 (No. 16 of 2006) (as adapted by the Business, Enterprise and Innovation (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 519 of 2020 )) and the Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2023 ( S.I. No. 14 of 2023 ), hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2024.
(2)The collection citation “the Employment Permits Regulations 2017 to 2024” includes these Regulations. 2. Regulation 29 (as amended by Regulation 4 of the Employment Permits (Amendment) Regulations 2024 ( S.I. No. 8 of 2024 )) of the Employment Permits Regulations 2017 ( S.I No. 95 of 2017 ) is amended by substituting for subparagraphs (
- a)and (
- b)the following: “(
- a)in the case of employment as— (
- i)a health care assistant, (
- ii)a care worker, or (iii) a home carer, the minimum annual remuneration is €27,000 and in respect of which the minimum hourly rate of remuneration is €13.31, (
- b)in the case of employment as— (
- i)a horticulture worker, or (
- ii)a meat processor operative, the minimum remuneration is €30,000 and in respect of which the minimum hourly rate of remuneration is €14.79, and (
- c)in any other case, the minimum annual remuneration is €34,000 and in respect of which the minimum hourly rate of remuneration is €16.77.”. These Regulations amend the Employment Permits Regulations 2017 to adjust an amendment made in relation to the minimum annual remuneration and hourly rates of remuneration payable under General Employment Permits. These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2024.
