I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 B (as inserted by section 4 of the Electoral (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 2009 (No. 9 of 2009)) of the Local Elections (Disclosure of Donations and Expenditure) Act 1999 (No. 7 of 1999), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Disclosure of Donations and Expenditure) Act 1999 (Period for Reckoning Election Expenses) Order 2024. 2. The period referred to in section 12B of the Local Elections (Disclosure of Donations and Expenditure) Act 1999 (No. 7 of 1999) during which election expenses at local elections to be held in the year 2024 shall be reckoned for the purposes of Part IIIA of the said Act shall commence on the 8th day of April 2024. 3. The period referred to in the said section 12B shall end on the 7th day of June 2024. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 8 April, 2024. This Order determines the period for the reckoning of election expenses incurred by or on behalf of a candidate, designated person, national agent of a political party, or third party at the local elections to be held on 7 June 2024, in accordance with section 12B of the Local Elections (Disclosure of Donations and Expenditure) Act 1999 . Section 12A of the said Act specifies limits on electoral expenditure which may be incurred by a candidate, designated person and national agent during the period specified in the Order.
