I, JENNIFER CARROLL MACNEILL, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1

(2)of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020), hereby order as follows:
  1. This Order may be cited as the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) Order
  3. The 6th day of May 2025 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020) shall come into operation: (a) section 3; (b) paragraphs (a) and (c) of section 4; (c) paragraph (b) of section 4, insofar as that paragraph relates to the insertion of the following definitions in section 2
(1)of the Dentists Act 1985 (No. 9 of 1985): (
  1. i)“appropriate fee”; (
  2. ii)“condition”; (iii) “Council website”; (
  3. iv)“health or social care”; (
  4. v)“relevant profession”; (
  5. vi)“restriction”; (
  6. d)section 6; (
  7. e)sections 9 to 23; (
  8. f)paragraph (
  9. b)of section 36; (
  10. g)paragraph (
  11. a)of section 53; (
  12. h)section 58, insofar as it relates to the insertion of section 21B of the Pharmacy Act 2007 (No. 20 of 2007); (
  13. i)paragraph (
  14. b)of section 61; (
  15. j)paragraph (
  16. b)of section 62; (
  17. k)paragraph (
  18. a)of section 78; (
  19. l)paragraph (b)(xii) of section 78, insofar as that paragraph relates to the insertion of the following definitions in section 2

This Order appoints 6th May 2025 as the day on which certain sections of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020) shall come into operation. The provisions amend the Dentists Act 1985, the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 , the Pharmacy Act 2007 , the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 and the Nurses and Midwives Act 2011 .
