The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6

(1)of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Environment, Climate and Communications (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025.
(2)This Order comes into operation on 2 June 2025. 2. The name of the Department of State, the present name of which is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Comhshaoil, Aeráide agus Cumarsáide and, in the English language, the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Aeráide, Fuinnimh agus Comhshaoil, and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment. 3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Comhshaoil, Aeráide agus Cumarsáide and, in the English language, the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Aeráide, Fuinnimh agus Comhshaoil and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment. 4. In any enactment or any instrument made under an enactment – (
  1. a)references to the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications shall be construed as references to the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, and (
  2. b)references to the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications shall be construed as references to the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment.
