(2)of the Data Protection Act 2018 , hereby make the following Rules. Dated this 5th day of March,

  2. These Rules, which may be cited as the Data Protection Act 2018 (Section 159
(2))(Amendment) Rules 2025, shall come into operation on the 1st day of July
  1. Interpretation
  2. In these Rules, the “Principal Rules” means the Data Protection Act 2018 (Section 159
(2)) Rules 2018 (S. I. No. 661 of 2018). Amendment 3. The Principal Rules are amended by the substitution for paragraphs (f) and (g) of sub-rule
(5)of rule 4 of the following paragraphs: (
  1. f)to any person in compliance with an order or direction of a court requiring production or discovery of the personal data concerned; (
  2. g)to a bona fide member of the Press or broadcast media in accordance with rules made under section 159
