I, MARTIN HEYDON, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 2001/112/EC of 20 December 20011 , as amended by Council Regulation (EC) No 1182/2007 of 26 September 20072 , Regulation (EC) No 1332/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 20083 , Commission Directive 2009/106/EC of 14 August 20094 , Directive 2012/12/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 April 20125 , Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 1040/2014 of 25 July 20146 , and Directive (EU) 2024/1438 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 May 20247 , hereby make the following regulations: Citation 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Marketing of Fruit Juices and Certain Similar Products) (Amendment) Regulations 2025. Amendments 2. The European Union (Marketing of fruit juices and certain similar products) Regulations 2013 ( S.I. No. 410 of 2013 ) are amended- (
- a)in Regulation 2
(1)by substituting for the definition of “Fruit juice legislation” the following- “‘Fruit juice legislation’ means Council Directive 2001/112/EC of 20 December 2001, as amended by Council Regulation (EC) No 1182/2007 of 26 September 2007, Regulation (EC) No 1332/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008, Commission Directive 2009/106/EC of 14 August 2009, Directive 2012/12/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 April 2012, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 1040/2014 of 25 July 2014 and Directive (EU) 2024/1438 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 May 2024;”, and (b) in Regulation 3, by inserting the following paragraph as paragraph
(2)and consequently re-numbering Regulation 3 as paragraph
(1)of that Regulation– “
(2)Notwithstanding paragraph
(1), a person may place a product produced or labelled before 14 June 2026 on the market if that product complies with the European Union (Marketing of fruit juices and certain similar products) Regulations 2013 before the making of the European Union (Marketing of Fruit Juices and Certain Similar Products) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 until stocks are exhausted.”. - These Regulations shall be deemed to be food legislation for the purposes of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland Act 1998 (No. 29 of 1998). GIVEN under my Official Seal, 12 December,

The purpose of these Regulations is to give legal effect to Directive 2011/112/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, as amended by Directive (EU) 2024/1438 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 May 2024 which prescribes and harmonises within the European Union, standards for the composition and labelling of fruit juices and certain similar products. These Regulations should be read in conjunction with Directive 2001/112/EC and amending Directive (EU) 2024/
