I, PETER BURKE, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Regulation (EU) 2024/2747 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 October 20241 , hereby make the following regulations: Citation and commencement 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Internal Market Emergency and Resilience) (Designation) Regulations 2026.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on 29 May 2026. Interpretation 2.
(1)In these Regulations – “Internal Market Emergency and Resilience Regulation” means Regulation (EU) 2024/2747 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 October 20241 establishing a framework of measures related to an internal market emergency and to the resilience of the internal market and amending Council Regulation (EC) No 2679/98 (Internal Market Emergency and Resilience Act); “Minister” means the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.
(2)A word or expression that is used in these Regulations and also used in the Internal Market Emergency and Resilience Regulation has, unless the context otherwise requires, the same meaning in these Regulations as it has in the Internal Market Emergency and Resilience Regulation. Designation of Minister as central liaison office 3. The Minister is designated as the central liaison office for the purposes of Article 8
(1)of the Internal Market Emergency and Resilience Regulation. Designation of Minister as single point of contact 4. The Minister is designated as the single point of contact for the purposes of Article 24
