I, PETER BURKE, Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 28 of the National Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996 (No. 28 of 1996) (as adapted by the Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025 ( S.I. No. 172 of 2025 )), hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Industrial Research and Standards (Fire Safety) (Domestic Furniture) Order 1995 (Revocation) Regulations 2026. 2. The Industrial Research and Standards (Fire Safety) (Domestic Furniture) Order 1995 ( S.I. No. 316 of 1995 ) is revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, 22 July, 2026. These Regulations revoke the Industrial Research and Standards (Fire Safety) (Domestic Furniture) Order 1995 ( S.I. No. 316 of 1995 ). The revocation will align Ireland’s approach to furniture safety with the European Union’s General Product Safety Regulation.
