RATES ON AGRICULTURAL LAND (RELIEF) ACT, 1962. AN ACT TO AMEND AND EXTEND THE RATES ON AGRICULTURAL LAND (RELIEF) ACTS, 1939 TO 1959. [7th August, 1962.] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:— Amendment of Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1953. 1.—(1) The Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1953 , shall have effect in relation to the local financial years ending on the 31st day of March, 1963, the 31st day of March, 1964, and the 31st day of March, 1965, and shall so have effect as if the making of supplementary allowances under section 6 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946 , were not prohibited. (2) Accordingly— (a) “eleven” is hereby substituted for “eight” where the latter word occurs in section 1 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1953 , as amended by section 1 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1959 , in the reference to the local financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1954, and the eight following local financial years, (b) “in the local financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1954, or any of the eight following local financial years” is hereby inserted in paragraph (i) of section 1 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1953 , after “shall not be made”. Amendment of section 8 (1) of Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1939. 2.—Subsection (1) of section 8 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1939 , as applied by subsection (2) of section 7 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946 , is hereby amended by the substitution of “sixteen years” for “seventeen years”. Amendment of section 5 of Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946. 3.— Section 5 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946 , is hereby amended by the substitution of “seven-tenths” for “three-fifths” wherever the latter expression occurs in the section. Amendment of section 6 of Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946. 4.— Section 6 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946 , is hereby amended by the substitution of “one-fourth” for “one-fifth”. Amendment of section 7 (1) (b) of Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946. 5.—Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section 7 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1946 , as amended by section 1 of the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1953 , is hereby amended by the insertion of “three-fourths of” before “the produce of the general rate in the pound”. Amendment of section 48 (1) of Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898. 6.—The amounts payable pursuant to subsection (1) of section 48 of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898 , in relation to the financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1963, and subsequent financial years shall, in lieu of being paid out of the Central Fund, be paid out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas. Short title and collective citation. 7.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1962. (2) The Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Acts, 1939 to 1959, and this Act may be cited together as the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Acts, 1939 to 1962.
