What it regulates
- The date and amount referenced in section 2 (1) of the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1958.
- The composition rules for committees of agriculture.
- The qualifications for non-council members appointed to agriculture committees.
Who it concerns
- Councils of counties.
- Committees of agriculture and their members.
Key points
- The year "1958" is replaced with "1965" and "fifteen" with "twenty-one" in the 1958 Act, effective April 1, 1965.
- Members of agriculture committees who are also council members cannot exceed the number of non-council members (or exceed by more than one if the committee has an odd number of members).
- Non-council members appointed to agriculture committees must be chosen for their farming attainments, agricultural development, or promotion of agricultural education.
- These changes to agriculture committees take effect after the first quinquennial election of council members following the passing of this Act.
