Official translation Official translation government of the republic of lithuania resolution no. 415 ON THE PARTIAL AMENDMENT OF Government of the Republic of Lithuania Resolution No. 682 of 28 MAY 1999 ON THE RESTRUCTURING OF FISHERIES ADMINISTRATION 11 April 2000 Vilnius The Government of the Republic of Lithuania hereby resolves: to partially amend Government of the Republic of Lithuania Resolution No. 682 of 28 May 1999 on the Restructuring of Fisheries Administration and to set it forth to read as follows: government of the republic of lithuania resolution ON THE RESTRUCTURING OF FISHERIES ADMINISTRATION Seeking to create a well-coordinated fisheries administration structure and taking into consideration the practice of the Member States of the European Union, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania hereby r e s o l v e s:

1. To assign functions of the formation of fisheries policy and the administration of this sector of economy, as well as all functions of the integration of fisheries into the European Union to the Ministry of Agriculture.
2. To assign functions of the protection and control of fishery resources to the Ministry of the Environment.
3. To charge the Ministry of Agriculture to restructure the Fisheries Department of the Ministry of Agriculture into the Fisheries Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, to carry out the functions of a founder of this Department and to approve its regulations.
4. The Ministry of the Environment must, in accordance with the established procedure, abolish the Department of Fishery Resources of the Ministry of the Environment and to adopt a decision concerning the assignment of the functions specified in Subparagraph 2 to the structural divisions of the Ministry or to the institutions established by the Ministry or assigned to it, without increasing the set number of jobs.
5. Taking into consideration the provisions of Subparagraphs 1 and 2, to charge the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture to prepare drafts of resolutions concerning the revision of the regulations of the said Ministries and to submit them to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania within two weeks of the coming into force of this Resolution.
6. Prior to 15 May 2000, the Ministry of Finance must, in accordance with the established procedure, submit to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania a draft Law on the Amendment of the Law on the Approval of Financial Indices of the State Budget and Municipal Budgets for the Year 2000 - to revise financial allocations to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Environment in accordance with calculations presented by the said Ministries.
7. To charge the Ministry of Public Administration Reforms and Local Authorities, after consultation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Environment, to submit, prior to 15 April 2000, to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania drafts of resolutions concerning the change in the highest allowed number of jobs approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for the Ministry of Agriculture and the institutions under the Ministry of Agriculture.
8. To obligate the Ministry of Agriculture to present, in accordance with the established procedure, proposals concerning the privatisation of the branches of the Lithuanian State Fish Farming and Fisheries Research Centre. Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius Minister of Agriculture Edvardas Makelis
