  3. GENERAL STATUTES 1.
  4. These regulations shall establish the obligatory requisites of the labelling of goods (with the exception of medicines and medical materials) and the procedure for the labelling thereof. 1.
  5. The goods produced in the Republic of Lithuania shall be labelled on the basis of the following basic documents: 1.2.
  6. Republic of Lithuania Law on Consumer Protection (Žin., 1994, No 94-1833); 1.2.
  7. The Republic of Lithuania Law on Trade (Žin., 1995, no 10-204); 1.2.
  8. The Provisional Regulation For Retail Trade, approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, November 5, 1994 per Decree No 1068 (Žin., 1994, No 86-1638); 1.2.
  9. The Procedure Governing the Import of Tobacco Products and Alcoholic Beverages, approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania , October 14, 1994, per Decree No 985 (Žin.,1994, No 81-1539); 1.2.

  16. OBLIGATORY LABELLING REQUISITES 2.
  17. The documents listed in Item 1.2 shall establish the following obligatory labelling requisites for all of the goods: name of goods; reference number of the statutory document, with the exception of goods, which do not require a statutory document (see LST Decree No 17, 1992 09 30 17); name and address of producer. 2.
  18. In addition to the requirements listed in item 2.1., the following labelling requisites shall also be obligatory for individual groups of goods: 2.2.
  19. the obligatory labelling requisites, stipulated by LST (CODEX STAN 1): 1993, except the 4.7.
  20. (i), (ii), and (iii) sub items (date indication requirements are stipulated in item 2.2.
  21. of these regulations ) and SD CAC/GL2: 1993- for food products; 2.2.
  22. special marks and labels, in accordance with the requirements of items 1,2,4 and 1,2,5 of the indicated documents, for tobacco products and alcoholic beverages; 2.2.
  23. fibre content for fabrics, knitwear, and textile accessory goods; 2.2.
  24. goods care symbols for clothing and knitwear; 2.2.
  25. measurements (sizes., etc.) and dimensions for footwear, clothing, knitwear, textile and leather accessories, head coverings and bedding; 2.2.
  26. duration of suitability for use must be marked with the words “Suitable for use until,” followed by date indication. The date shall be marked as follows: for products which may be used for up to three months time - the month and day or the month, day and hour; for products, which are suitable for use for more than three months - the year, month and day; for other than food products, such as chemicals, perfume, cosmetics, light sensitive photo products, photochemicals, fertilisers, dry galvanised batteries - the year and month; 2.2.
  27. purpose and use characteristics for food products of special nutrition purpose, chemicals cosmetics, sport, film, radio electronics, electric and photo products, household necessities, building materials, toys and fertilisers; 2.2.
  28. other labelling requisites, shall be stipulated in the statutory documents of the goods. 2.2.
  29. enterprises engaged in production or trade activities shall indicate the labelling requisites listed in items 2.1 and 2.2 of these regulations, as follows: For goods produced in the Republic of Lithuania, - on the label, on the item itself or on its packaging, for imported goods - on its packaging or else in the accompanying and use documents, and contracts. The use characteristics of the goods may be supplied and included with the use (how to use) instructions of the goods. 2.2.
  30. The labelling requisites and use characteristics of the goods shall be supplied in the state language.
