(1)– for a period of validity of a contract of employment but not exceeding 5 years; 2)

(2)– for a period of 5 years; 3)

(3)– for a period of provision of service but not exceeding 5 years; 4)

(4)– for a period of receiving of services but not exceeding 5 years; 5)

(5)– for a period of 5 years; 6)

(6)– for a period of one academic year.

Members of the family of a national of Member State of the EU shall be issued a permit of temporary residence in the Republic of Lithuania for the same period as the permit issued for the national of a Member State of the European Union. Article
Grounds for Withdrawal of a Permit of Temporary Residence in the Republic of Lithuania
A permit of temporary residence in the Republic of Lithuania shall be withdrawn from a national of a Member state of the European Union if there is at least one of the reasons specified in Article 21 of this Law, with the exception subparagraphs

Members of the family of a national of a member State of the European Union shall also lose the right to reside in the Republic of Lithuania. Article 489..Issue of a Permit of Permanent Residence in the Republic of Lithuania for a National of a Member State of the European Union. A national of a member State of the European Union shall be issued a permit of permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania if he resided legally in the Republic of Lithuania for the past five years and fulfils the requirements set forth in subparagraphs 2) and 3) of paragraph 1, Article 22 of this Law. Absence from the country for a period not exceeding six months in succession, may not serve as a reason for refusal to issue a permit of permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania under the conditions prescribed by this Article. International Agreements If an international agreement to which the Republic of Lithuania is a party provides differently from this Law, provisions of the international agreement shall apply. Article
Entry into Force and Implementation of this Law
This Law shall enter into force on 1 July,
