Translation from Lithuanian Translation from Lithuanian GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA R E S O L U T I O N No. 606 On regulating the transit of alcoholic drinks and tobacco products through the territory of the Republic of Lithuania Vilnius, 5 August 1993 The Government of the Republic of Lithuania r e s o l v e s :
- Partially amendmending Resolution No. 443 "On the Procedure of Export and Import Regulation in the Republic of Lithuania", dated 16 June 1993 adopted by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania ( News, 1993, No. 24-573 ) to formulate the second passage of paragraph 2.
- as follows: " In case of commodity transit through the customs territory the botgage payment levied according to the procedure established by the Customs Department is not less than the import duty for these commodities ( 5% error is acceptable ) or guarantees shall be adduced. State enterprise "Lithuanian Railway" presents guarantee for the commodities transported by the railway. Transit of copper and its alloys ( codes according to the nomenclature of the EEC Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System - 74.01-74.03, 74.05-74.13, 8544.11 ), aluminium and its alloys ( codes according to the nomenclature of the EEC Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System - 76.01, 76.03-76.09, 76.14 ) by road is allowed only with police escort, while transit of alcoholic drinks ( codes according to the nomenclature of the EEC Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System - 22.03-22.08 ) and tobacco products ( codes according to the nomenclature of the EEC Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System - 24.02-24.03 ) by road is allowed with the presence of guarantee ( botgage ) or police escort ( upon the choice of the economic entity ). The expenses for the police escort are covered by the economic entity. Commodities in transit escorted by the police do not require botgages or guarantees."

- the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance to specify and in coordination with the Ministries of Finance, Transport and Economy to adopt by 16 August 1993, regulations on giving ( receiving ) and returning guarantee ( botgage ) and providing the possibility to give long-term botgages ( twice the customs duty ) as well as possibility to return the botgages in the same customs post on the way back; 2.
- the Ministry of the Interior, having coordinated it with the Ministries of Finance, Transport and Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance, to adopt the payment tariffs for police escorting, the escort routs and schedule of departure from customs posts.
