Translation from Lithuanian Translation from Lithuanian GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA R E S O L U T I O N No. 239 On the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women Vilnius, 6 April 1994 With a view to the decision of the United Nations General Assembly to convene the Fourth World Conference on Women from 4-15 September 1995 in Beijing, China and invitation extended to all member states of the United nations to participate in this conference and other relevant activities, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania r e s o l v e s:

1. To approve the proposal of the women's public organisations to join the United Nations programmes on women and to participate in the Fourth World Conference on Women.
2. To approve the Lithuanian preparatory committee on the Fourth World Conference on Women (attached).
3. To authorise the committee referred in section 2 to draw up a programme on the preparation of the Fourth World Conference on Women and to take the lead in its implementation and to make a national report on the legal social situation of women to the United Nations as well.
4. To authorise ministries, departments, other state agencies and city (region) boards, and to recommend that public organsations and movements, creative unions and societies, mass media should actively participate in the solution of specific legal social problems of women in Lithuania.
