Translation from Lithuanian Translation from Lithuanian GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA R E S O L U T I O N No. 576 On Partial Amendments to Resolution No. 170 "On the Approval of the Order of Customs Transit Clearance Procedure" adopted on 2 February 1995 by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Vilnius, 21 April 1995 The Government of the Republic of Lithuania r e s o l v e s:

1. Partly amending the order of customs transit clearance procedure approved by Resolution No. 170 "On the Approval of the Order of Customs Transit Clearance Procedure" (Records, No. 12-290, No. 25-573, 1995) adopted on 2 February 1995 by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania: 1.
2. to outline passage eight of Paragraph 12 as follows: "Goods falling under the securities system established under the Customs Convention on International Transport of Goods under cover of TIR Carnets (Geneva, November 14, 1975) as well a other goods may be transported under police or customs escort only upon the wish of the implementing agent (carrier) of the customs transit procedure (with the exception of goods to be carried exclusively under police escort). Deposits shall be lodged or securities either of a banking institution or an insurance company shall be issued when alcoholic drinks, including ethyl alcohol (codes according to the Combined Nomenclature of the EEC - 22.03-22.08), tobacco products (codes according to the Combined Nomenclature of the EEC - 24.02-24.03) and sugar (codes according to the Combined Nomenclature of the EEC - 17.01, 1702.30,1702.40, 1702.90) are transported as goods in transit with the police escort. Deposits and securities do not apply for goods in transit escorted by police or customs. Where choice can be made between deposits, securities, or transit under escort, the implementing agent (carrier) of the customs transit procedure shall make such choice"; 1.
3. to outline passage three of Paragraph 14 as follows: "Alcoholic beverages, including ethyl alcohol (codes according to the Combined Nomenclature of the EEC - 22.03-22.08), tobacco products (codes according to the Combined Nomenclature of the EEC - 24.02-24.03) sugar (codes according to Combined Nomenclature of the EEC - 17.01,1702.30, 1702.40, 1702.90) shall be carried by road transport only across the following border crossings of the Republic of Lithuania: Kalvarija, Klaipëda trade port, Klaipëda terminal, Kurðiai (international sea ferry), Medininkai, Panemunë, Saloèiai, as well as Palanga international airport. The office of destination of goods (including change of consignee or the country of destination) or the customs-established route may be changed only when goods are returned to consignor."
4. The present Resolution comes into effect from 1 June
