Translation from Lithuanian Translation from Lithuanian GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA R E S O L U T I O N No. 717 On the Restriction of Sending Certain Things (Goods) by Post to and from the Republic of Lithuania Vilnius, 19 May 1995 With the aim of imposing a stricter control of certain things (goods) sent by post to and from the Republic of Lithuania the Government of the Republic of Lithuania r e s o l v e s:

  1. To approve the below (attached): 1.
  2. the list of things (goods) prohibited to be sent by post to and from the Republic of Lithuania without permits; 1.
  3. the list of things (goods) prohibited to be sent by post to and from the Republic of Lithuania.
  4. To establish that: 2.
  5. the natural persons, not enjoying the status of economic entities, shall not be sent parcels, the weight of which exceeds 31.5 kilograms and the value of which exceeds 1000 Litas, without paying customs duties; 2.
  6. the goods sent to economic entities by post shall comply with the order of regulating the export and import of goods in the Republic of Lithuania established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania; 2.
  7. the parcels shall be transported by the State Company "Lietuvos Paðtas" or the economic entities registered in the Republic of Lithuania and having the right to transport parcels under the Licence issued by the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance.
  8. To instruct the Ministry of Communications and Informatics and the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance to work out a new order of sending parcels until October 1
  9. This resolution enters into force from July 1

  11. Radioelectronic and electric equipment, which emits (may emit) radio waves when in operation (shall be sent in only with the Permit of the State Inspectorate of Electric Communications).
  12. Police and military ammunition, special devices of control and security, criminalistic devices and the devices for training the police staff (shall be sent in only with the Permit of the Ministry of the Interior).
  13. Cultural and artistic values, amber as raw material included, (shall be sent only with the Permit of the Department of Cultural Values Protection of the Ministry of Culture).
  14. Colour copying equipment (shall be sent in or out only with the Permit of the Ministry of the Interior).
  15. Wild animals (stuffed animals, eggs, furskins included), trophies of hunting and fishing as well as articles made of unprocessed wild animals and their parts ( shall be sent only with the Permit of the Ministry of Environment Protection, issued in due order).
  16. Non - industrial food products and raw materials of animal origin (shall be sent in and out only with the Permit of the State Veterinary Authority and the Certificate of Quality).
  17. Goods of plant origin, which may cause infectious diseases, spread pests and weeds (shall be sent in and out only with the Permit of the Plant Quarantine Authority). _________________________ APPROVED by Resolution No. 717 of 19 May 1995 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Things (Goods) Prohibited to Be Sent by Post to and from the Republic of Lithuania
  18. Domestic and foreign currency, except the one that is needed to change the sample banknotes and coins sent and received by the Bank of Lithuania and its offices (collector's items and occasional coins may be sent by all the banks of the Republic of Lithuania).
  19. All securities (covered by the list approved by the Ministry of Finance).
  20. Traveller's cheques.
  21. Non - precious metals, their alloys, waste and scrap (codes according to the Combined Nomenclature of the EEC 72.01 - 73.16, 74.01 - 74.14, 75.01 - 76.14, 78.01 - 81.13).
  22. Jewellery and jewelled articles, containing precious metals, jewels and genuine pearls the total mass of which exceeds 50 grams.
  23. Narcotic, psychotropic, poisonous substances and devices for using them, explosive, highly inflammable, radioactive and hazardous materials.
  24. All types of hunting and sporting firearms, arbalests, pneumatic and fighting weapons, their numbered parts, ammunition, gas pistols, Mace.
  25. Live animals, except bees, leeches, silkworms, parasites and pests exterminators needed for research by officially recognized institutions.
  26. Industrial food products and raw materials of animal origin (if their packaging is broken, their validity date expired, their organoleptic peculiarities changed).
  27. Things (goods) profibited to be exported and imported under the laws of the Republic of Lithuania and the resolutions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
  28. Things with obscene and immoral inscriptions and views.
  29. Things, the essence and packaging of which may be dangerous to the post staff or which may stain or spoil other parcels. _______________________
