prprp Translation from Lithuanian GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA R E S O L U T I O N No. 857 On the Partial Amendment to some Resolutions adopted by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on Transit Issues Vilnius, 19 July 1996 The Government of the Republic of Lithuania r e s o l v e s: 1. To add paragraph 2.3.6 to Resolution No. 497 “On the Application of Securities during Customs Procedures” adopted on 7 April 1995 by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (Records, 1995, No.32-749, No. 87-1968; 1996, No. 34-840, No. 43-1059): “2.3.6. for goods transported according to the customs transit clearance procedure with the police escort, the Security Police Board under the Police Department of the Ministry of the Interior”. 2. Partly amending the customs transit clearance procedure approved by Resolution No. 1610 “On the Approval of the Order of Customs Transit Clearance Procedure” adopted on 22 December 1995 by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (Records, 1996, No.1-12, No.30-755, No.37-944, No. 52-1241): 2.1. to outline first passage of paragraph 7 as follows: “7. While transporting goods subject to customs transit procedure, a deposit is lodged according to the established procedure which is not less than the sum of import customs duties and (

1. or)the taxes applied to these goods (in the event of transit across the customs territory of the Republic of Lithuania), or not less than the sum of export customs duties and (
2. or)taxes applied to these goods (in the event of transit not across the customs territory of the Republic of Lithuania), or a security is provided for the appropriate sum of the customs duties and taxes in accordance with the procedure established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, or these goods are transported across the customs territory of the Republic of Lithuania with the police escort. The implementing agent (carrier) chooses one of the possible forms of deposit, security, or police escort. Alcoholic drinks, including ethyl alcohol (codes according to the Combined Goods Nomenclature of the EEC - 22.03-22.08), tobacco products (codes according to the Combined Goods Nomenclature of the EEC - 24.02-24.03), sugar (codes according to the Combined Goods Nomenclature of the EEC - 17.01, 1720.30, 1702.40, 1702.90) shall be carried by road vehicles across the customs territory of the Republic of Lithuania only with the police escort”; 2.2. to outline first passage of paragraph 12 as follows: “12. Non-ferrous metals, their alloys, waste material and scrap (codes according to the Combined Goods Nomenclature of the EEC - 74.04, 75.03, 76.02, 78.02. 79.02, 80.01, 80.02, 81019190 0, 81029190 0, 81031090 0, 81042000 0, 81051090 0, 81060010 0, 81071000 0, 81081090 0, 81091090 0, 81100019 0, 81110019 0, 81121100 0, 81122039 0, 81123010 0, 81124019 0, 81129139 0), alcoholic drinks, including ethyl alcohol (codes according to the Combined Goods Nomenclature of the EEC - 22.03-22.08), tobacco products (codes according to the Combined Goods Nomenclature of the EEC - 24.02-24.03), sugar (codes according to the Combined Goods Nomenclature of the EEC - 17.01, 1720.30, 1702.40, 1702.90) in transit shall be transported across the customs territory of the Republic of Lithuania by road vehicles which are suitable to be affixed with the customs seals”; 2.3. to substitute words “sealed with the customs seals” for “sealed with the leaden customs seals” in fifth passage of paragraph 12, and also to delete the last passage; 2.4. to outline first passage of paragraph 14 as follows: “14. Taking into consideration the terms of goods transportation, the customs shall have the right to establish the routes for the transportation of goods according to the customs clearance transit procedure”. 3. To recognise as invalid Resolution No.626 "On Partial Amendments to Resolution No. 1610 “On the Approval of the Order of Customs Transit Clearance Procedure” adopted on 22 December 1995 by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania” adopted on 29 May 1996 by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (Records, No. 52-1241, 1995). 4. To authorise the Police Security Board under the Police Department of the Ministry of the Interior to lodge a general security with the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance for the goods transported according to the customs transit clearance procedure with the police escort till 10 August 1996. 5.
